Gyn Microscopes is your source for medical gynecology colposcope microscopes. Our gynecological microscopes (colposcopes) are used by gyne doctors for colposcopy examinations to view the cervix when abnormalities appear on a pap smear. The colposcopy examination consists of positioning the gynecological colposcope about 30 cm from the vagina. The cervical tissue cells are optically viewed and enlarged with the stereoscopic gynecology microscope. Cervical cancer is a leading problem in women’s health. Regular checkups at an ob gyn clinic are advised, and should consist of using a vaginal speculum and doing a papsmear and if abnormal results are found, a colposcopy done by viewing of the cervis with a gynecology colposcope stereo microscope. Tissue samples and a biopsy testing for cervical cancer may be performed. Cryotherapy, using a procedure called cryosurgery may be required to freeze abnormal cells during the ob gyn visit.
Our gynecology microscopes are mounted on floor stands with wheels for easy portability. The colposcope arms are articulating, giving the microscope the ability to swing into place and then retract. The microscope head is stereoscopic, allowing a 3D view through the stereo scopes’s binocular eyepieces. Some models may also be fitted with a trinocular photography port for live full motion viewing on a cctv monitor with the ccd video camera attached. Digital still images of cervical conditions can also be captured with our USB computer connected microscope digital video cameras. Pathological conditions found during the ob gyn health checkup can be digitally recorded and compared during future gynecological vaginal examinations with the colposcope.
Our stereoscopic gynecological colposcopic examination microscopes provide a zoom objective system for continuously variable magnification. The zoom feature is a good option compared to a normal fixed magnification stereoscopic microscope head. We also provide coaxial illumination that more properly illuminates the microscope’s viewing surface than normal incident reflected light. |
